Residents at St Cecilia were treated to a special visit when Bluey, a friendly three-year-old cob horse, stopped by with his owners, locals Jade and Martin Smith.

The visit was organised by Martin’s daughter Miranda, who works in housekeeping at our home in Shepton Mallet.

Bluey’s visit was a big hit with residents, who fed him apples and carrots, stroked his coat, and enjoyed spending time with him.

“It was such a joy to see the smiles on everyone’s faces,” said manager Tracy Woolfrey.

“Animals have a way of bringing comfort and connection, and Bluey was so gentle and friendly; the residents absolutely loved him.”

“We’re always looking for ways to make life at St Cecilia as engaging and fulfilling as possible.

“Thanks to Miranda and her family for organising such a thoughtful and heartwarming visit. It really lifted everyone’s spirits.”
